INSIDE OUT
Let’s face it, ‘Femme Fatale’ was a perfect pop album that spawned hit after hit after hit. Our first focus on the album has to be, without a doubt, ‘Inside Out.’ The song almost made it to single status, however lost out to ‘Criminal,’ during an online fan poll. It is really difficult not to use a cheesy line here, but the decision was, well… criminal. We are not saying that ‘Criminal,’ did not deserve the single status and we do truly love the track, however, ‘Inside Out,’ was the best choice for the fourth single by far.
Max Martin is becoming a regular name on our Discover Britney list, but what can we say other than this man is a pure musical genius. There is just something about Max Martin, Britney and break up songs that complement each other so well. ‘Inside Out’ uses similar ‘Drum&Bass’ elements to the lead single, ‘Hold It Against Me’, however this time mixing the successful formula with elements of R&B and electro-pop. The heavy beat and slow ‘groove’ to the song add to the songs sexual tension, a perfect harmony between lyrics and rhythm. The futuristic sound is reminiscent of Madonna’s ‘Ray Of Light’ album and similar attitude of Britney’s long-time favourite Janet Jackson is prominent in the song. The nod to ‘…Baby One More Time,’ adds to the songs power and shows exactly how far Britney has come since her début. As a new addition to the Britney writing team, Bonnie McKee (who also helped pen Femme Fatale’s first single) seems to just get Britney. ‘Baby shut your mouth and turn me inside out,’ a command we are more than happy to oblige to.

Today we celebrate the 5th birthday of the iconic ‘Till The World Ends (Femme Fatale Remix).’
After an already successful top ten entry for, ‘Till The World Ends,’ Britney’s second single off her seventh studio album, ‘Femme Fatale,’ a remixed version of the song featuring Kesha and rapper Nicki Minaj leaked online on April 22, 2011. The Femme Fatale Remix was released on iTunes on April 25, 2011.
Britney uploaded a picture of the cover art to her Twitter account on the same day as the single release. Kesha told MTV News, “I’m a massive fan of both the ladies I share the track with. I wrote ‘TTWE’ for Britney […] and she killed it and I loved it, but I just thought a super group of three hot, strong women could just take over the airwaves,’’ and boy did it do just that!
Although the majority of the track was similar to the original, the extra added intro and a Drum and Bass elements to the track similar to Britney’s, ‘Hold It Against Me,’ made the track that extra special.
Minaj’s rap in the track (praised by critics and fans alike) and Ke$ha’s rough edge to the bridge made this one of our favourite remixes of all time! The remix helped the track reach the top 5 in the Billboard charts.
Pitchfork Media listed the remix in their Top 100 tracks of 2011 list stating, ‘Till the World Ends’ was already the best Britney single since ‘Toxic’, an ecstatic Euroclub floor-filler about wanting to dance until the world ends and other important matters. Then they added the Nicki Minaj verse. In her 45-second evisceration, Nicki manages to squeeze in chicken noises and the words ‘poultry’, ‘Epsom salt’, and ‘Ricki Lake’– not to mention the immortal diss ‘Sniff, sniff, criiiies/ I done slayed your entire fucking liiiiife.’ (Fact: In 2011, pretty much any song in the world could be made infinitely better by the addition of a Nicki Minaj verse.) Sprinkle a little bit of Ke$ha, the song’s co-writer, on the chorus, and you’ve got a three-headed diva Hydra that sums up the recent changing of the femme pop guard from airbrushed and perfect to (relatively) weird and chaotic. It’s the year’s greatest quickie cash-in remix created to boost the chart position of a floundering single. Considering the ubiquity of the practice, that’s saying something.’
Unfortunately, no music video was filmed for the remix, much to our disappointment! Let’s celebrate by listening to the track! We will be dancing on tables until security kicks us out!
Happy Birthday, ‘Till The World Ends (Femme Fatale Remix),’ we salute you!
Today we celebrate the 12th Birthday of the movie ‘Brave New Girl,’ based on Britney and Lynne Spears’ book, ‘A Mother’s Gift.’
The novel, ‘A Mother’s Gift,’ was adapted for the 2004 ABC Family Television movie, ‘Brave New Girl,’ named after one of Britney’s, ‘In The Zone,’ tracks.
Although the plot was drastically changed, Britney and Lynne were still named as the executive producers of the film.
Holly has everything it takes to be a star; the voice, the dream and the dedication, but she lacks the means to break away from her humble Texas upbringing. Then she gets the chance to attend an art and music school on the East coast and her future suddenly looks bright. But the road to stardom is a bumpy one. She must compete with the snobby Angela for the star spot and that’s the least of her troubles. Luckily, Holly has the support from her mother and her roommate Ditz who prove that being a star has nothing to do with fame and everything to do with faith, family, and friends. It’s spotlight time for a VERY special Britney Army member this time.
Everyone meet Jordan. Jordan is a 26 year lady with Down syndrome. Last March, she was diagnosed with a rare and incurable cerebrovascular disease called Moyamoya Disease. In the past year, Jordan has undergone 2 brain surgeries and has had 7 strokes, following that was later diagnosed with Celiac Disease and sleep apnea. She has this incredible, unwavering strength and courage that has gotten her to where she is today. A few months ago, her mother Corinne, heard about a wish foundation founded by Michael Franti called Do It For The Love. They believe that music can be healing. Corinne sat down with Jordan one night and asked her who she loves to listen to and she replied with, “Spears”… Referring to Britney Spears of course. Corinne found every Britney Spears video that she could on Youtube to which Jordan and Corinne sang and laughed to. Later that night, Corinne filled out the application to have Jordan’s wish granted. A lady from the organization named Joyce worked her magic and got Jordan four tickets to see Piece of Me, including a meet and greet. Now because of Jordan’s risk for strokes Corinne and Jordan had to drive 2200 miles round trip from Montana to Las Vegas!
We at Britney-Galaxy are extremely fortunate and honoured to have been contacted by Jordan’s mother, who has been kind enough to share this extraordinary experience with us. Check out the story below:
First, I want to say how amazingly kind Britney Spears staff was to my daughter. I also want to thank Britney-Galaxy.com for featuring our story! It set the entire tone for the evening. When we arrived at the meet and greet, we were met by a lady and greeted by name. A nice guy named named Ron ( from security, I think), told the group we were with all of the rules for meeting Britney Spears. Jordan was pretty overwhelmed, and worried because she wouldn’t remember the rules. I think Ron saw us talking, because he didn’t make Jordan and I go through the body scan with the wand. (thank you, Ron!!). We were led through the building and out the back, where Ron went over more rules, and how the meet and greet would work. He introduced the group to Fe, this wonderful woman who told us what to expect when meeting Britney Spears. When she finished talking to us, Jordan asked her for a hug. Fe was awesome! She got a big ol Jordan hug, and talked with Jordan for a few minutes. Then she offered to let Jordan sit in this old ratty chair, because Jordan was starting to get tired by this time. Jordan settled into that old chair and felt important, because Fe made her FEEL like she was important. As we waited our turn to go inside and meet Britney, Jordan did what she does best, and befriended another guy (I think also from security), named George. Jordan and George, talked, hugged and posed for a picture (so that she could remember her new friend), before we were ready to go meet Britney Spears. A few of the dancers also stopped and wished Jordan a good time at the concert.
Jordan & I went inside. When it was finally her turn, we went up a ramp onto an area set up to take a picture with Britney Spears. Jordan walked up, saw Britney, and her entire face lit up like it was Christmas. Jordan walked over, and Britney said hi to her and asked her what her name was. Jordan told her her name, and very quietly asked if she could have a hug. Britney Spears was so sweet to Jordan! I told Britney that meeting her and seeing her in concert was Jordan’s wish. (She was unaware of this). Jordan and I posed for the picture with her, and that was that! Jordan walked out of there smiling and so happy!!
I know this is much longer than you were probably anticipating, But I wanted to add in how wonderful and considerate Britney Spears’ staff was to Jordan. Britney Spears was of course the highlight of the night, but her staff made Jordan comfortable enough that she could actually ENJOY the experience, without being overwhelmed.
