She’s been in the entertainment game for more than 20 years, but Brit’s happy to let you know—via Instagram—that she’s still figuring things out. I truly do not know how to start to explain this experience but here we go and I appreciate Anthony for letting me share this once in a lifetime opportunity!
I have been a huge Britney fan since I heard “Baby One More Time” on the radio my sophomore year of college. She along with the boy bands at the time changed the landscape of music, fashion, and energy of the late 90’s! The music of my high school years were filled with grunge music, not that there is anything wrong with that but I loved pop music!
I will never forget “Crazy” premiering on TRL and it exploded the dance scene. I had a college party in my apartment and my roommate and I performed the routine to the video! There were oohs and ahhs!
Fast forward 16 years. Hard to believe but I have been a loyal fan of Britney. I am a positive thinking person and her talent and music help instill that mentality. So going to Vegas this weekend was a about her!
I stayed a Planet Hollywood and it was great! I saw her show on Wednesday night in the right general admission on the floor. AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Doors opened at 7:30, I didn’t get their until 8:00 so I was afraid I would be at the back of the floor, but there was plenty of room! Excellent views!
So to the Meet ant Greet! I was very nervous to meet Britney. She is my Idol! Felicia, her assistant, conducts the backstage tour. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She explained that Britney was just like any normal person and that she was shy so tell her your name and shake her hand and just talk to her!
One thing that I was impressed with is the fact that there were only about 27 people in the meet and greet experience, so it made it more intimidate.
So after Fe explains the meet n greet we line up to meet Brit. The security team was extremely nice even with the job that they have to do to make sure Brit is protected. I had heard about what happend in France so security I am sure was on high alert. They had you empty your pockets before you went to meet her. I had a Britney doll in my coat pocket, circa Opps I Did It Again Tour 2000. The security person asked if I was going to take the doll, I said I would like to. He told me I could not take it with me for the meet and greet but I could tell he liked it!
I am very quickly next in line to meet Brit! I see her silhouette behind the wall. She is in a hat and I am excited!!!!
Once it is my turn I walked to her and she spoke to me first! She said hello! I said, “Hey Brit! My name is Andrew and I am a huge fan! I told her that my husband and I got married on her birthday in 2013 in NYC. She said, “Very cool”. We took our pic and I was able to put my arm around her. I told her my husband was next to meet her and she said, “I can’t wait to meet him!”
Well, my husband likes to tell jokes. So when Will met her he told her the only person that I love more than him his her! He said she was flattered! That is why his is talking in his pic!
In closing, the meet and greet far exceeded my expectations. Britney is the sweetest person I have ever met. She is a good southern girl and I am happy she has people like Fe and others in her group that are incredibly nice and humble. AND THANK YOU FE FOR BEING SO NICE AND THOUGHFUL!
We are super jealous… Congrats on your letters guys!!

The production is a compilation of 24 of Britney’s worldwide hits, including “Baby One More Time,” “Oops I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” and her newest smash single, “Pretty Girls.” The cutting-edge concert experience features elaborate choreography, lavish costumes (you’ll recognize a few from her iconic music videos) and high-end digital effects. Britney is the first artist-in-residence housed in The AXIS, Planet Hollywood’s newly renovated 4,600-seat theater, which features one of the largest indoor video and projection installations in the world.
As if that did not slay you enough – Britney is still finding time to teach her all important dance classes, passing on the torch to our future generation!

When I was 10 years old I convinced my dad to buy me the “Baby One More Time” Britney Spears Doll. I knew from that moment on I had the love and acceptance of my parents and Britney Spears in my corner.
As the years continued so did Britney’s presence in my life. Then freshman year “Gimme More” was released and it became the Fashion Institute of Technology’s anthem. Everyone blasted it, it was everyone’s ring back tone and any room you walked into was playing “Blackout”. The song brought together the group of friends I have and even to this day it’s my most played song.
The idea of meeting Britney was always that – an idea. Until I started working my new design job that had insane overtime hours and I decided to use my over-time checks towards the M&G. The nights were late but the power of Britney got me through and soon I purchased the M&G ticket.
Then the day came. Around 6 I went to the lobby alone – nervous yet excited when I met my M&G group. Immediately it felt like we were meant to be together. Lauren, Brittney, Rachel, Nancy, Marcus, Neil, Gary and I. We bonded over our love of Britney and what she had meant to us. It was clear that Britney was more then just a person – she became an idea to so many different people from different backgrounds who view her in different ways. Personally she was the sexy, goofy, talented and unapologetic yet approachable person I love.
Then we met Fe, who we all know and love, who took us backstage for the tour. The idea of ‘Britney’ came more into focus. The team who comes together to help create the image that we know and love as ‘Britney’. We got to hang in the lobby and see the costumes – another beloved aspect of what ‘Britney’ is. Then the time came. The girls went first. They returned crying. I was thirsty for any detail I could receive, what was she wearing? What style hair? I needed information.
The moment your heart truly sank to my stomach was when I could see her silhouette. This is the woman who I loved as a child. The dance moves I learned to ‘Oops’. The one I defended in 2007. The one I championed during the ‘Circus’ tour. This is the person – the constant in my life. More then half my life spent idolizing the concept of what ‘Britney Spears’ is.
Then I met her.
A shy and beautiful women. I got to tell her everything I wanted to tell. I got the weight lifted off my shoulders as I declared she was doll I got my dad to buy me and the song that brought me my friends in college. I got big accepting smiles and I got “Thank Yous” and I got genuine reactions – I no longer had the idea of the team of what made the ‘Britney Spears’ we all saw in the media, I got to see the woman and inspiration. The ringleader. The human spirit and driving force. The reason I believed and loved, I got to meet my idol.
If only for a few minutes ‘Britney Spears’ became more then a concept or an ideology.
